May 26th and 27th, 2012.  World War II Event at Fort Clinch.  Fort Clinch State Park will host a program Memorial Day Weekend on May 26 and 27, in honor of the men and women who served in World War II. Visitors can explore military displays, view memorabilia and learn about the uniforms, weapons, vehicles and lifestyle of those who were part of the war during the 1940s.

August 24th and 25th, 2012.  The Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff.  Kick off the football season with a barbeque competition at the beach with the 2nd Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off!  Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, professional barbeque competition teams will compete for over $20,000 in cash and prizes at Main Beach Park on beautiful Amelia Island, Florida.  Bring your family, friends, and your appetite to Main Beach Park and enjoy great entertainment including live music from national, local and regional bands.  Cheer on your favorite backyard team as they battle against other local teams in their own barbeque competition.  Get ready for football season and learn a few new barbeque tricks to show off at your own football tailgate parties!  The Great Southern Tailgate Cookoff, where the brisket meats the beach.

November 10th, 2012.  History of the American Soldier at Fort Clinch
.  Fort Clinch State Park will host a full day event to salute our Armed Forces on Saturday, Nov. 10. Visitors will enjoy a day filled with military history and displays from the Revolutionary War to present day while interacting with living historians from each major U.S. military conflict. Period music and firing demonstrations will also highlight the experience. In addition, participants can visit the Fort Clinch Canteen for a variety of delightful refreshments.

December 1st and 2nd, 2012.  Union Holiday Encampment at Fort Clinch.  Living historians recreate life at Fort Clinch during the War Between the States. Activities may include black powder artillery demonstrations and marching drills, as well as soldiers and civilians taking up duty in the laundry, infirmary and kitchen. This special holiday encampment also allows you to watch as the fort is decorated for the holiday season.  Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

March 2nd and 3rd, 2013.  Amelia Island Garden Show.  The 4th annual Amelia Island Garden Show produced by the Fernandina Farmers Market will roll out nature's brightest colors for two days on March 3 & 4, 2012 at Central Park in Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida.  With growers and nurseries from around the state, the Amelia Island Garden Show will feature more than 50 vendors with a full assortment of flowers and plants, fruit trees and palms, orchids, herbs, container gardens, native plants, butterfly-friendly plants, shrubs, garden accessories and more.

April 20th, 2013.  9th Annual Katie Ride For Life.  The Katie Ride for Life takes place on beautiful Amelia Island, FL. Riding distances include 18, 36, 62 and 100 miles with an off-road trail course through Ft. Clinch and a fun ride. Walk options include a 5K or 10K.  All events feature fully-supported and well-marked courses, SAG vehicles and energizing rest stops with food and drinks. Participants will receive a Katie Ride for Life t-shirt, breakfast before the event and a catered, sit-down lunch and reception following.  There are currently over 113,000 individuals waiting for transplants in America. May 2nd, 2013.  Shrimp Festival Pirate Parade.  Kick-off the 50th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival with the Pirate Parade along Ash Street in downtown Fernandina Beach!  Watch the parade from the comfort of our front porch as we continue Happy Hour.

May 3rd through May 5th, 2013.  50th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival.  The 50th Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival will feature three days of arts and crafts, 300 juried artists, live entertainment, numerous food booths and of course, fresh, local Fernandina shrimp!
